Is CapCut music copyright free?
Depends
Not as a rule. CapCut licenses its music, templates and effects: most are for personal, non-commercial use, and only items marked 'commercial use' allow limited commercial use. US users have a separate agreement we haven't reviewed.

Quick answers
Can you use CapCut music on YouTube?
CapCut's terms only allow commercial use of materials marked 'commercial use'. The terms we quote don't define whether a given video counts as commercial, so for a monetized channel the safer choice is music with that mark.
Is CapCut free for commercial use?
It depends on the materials. Content made with CapCut's materials is for personal, non-commercial use unless a material is marked for commercial use. Footage you upload stays yours, though CapCut gets a broad licence to it.
Do US users have different CapCut terms?
Yes. US users are under a separate US agreement, which we haven't reviewed yet. Check it before relying on this page.

YouTube
AI disclosure: Required for realistic AI-generated or meaningfully altered content, for AI-generated music, and for AI music that's the main focus of a video. You tick 'AI use' in YouTube Studio when you upload. YouTube says the label alone won't limit a video's audience or its eligibility to earn money.
- Mass-produced, template-like AI content is not eligible for monetization (inauthentic content policy).
- Using AI to help tell an original story or visualise your own character is given as an acceptable example.
- Realistic AI-generated or altered content must be disclosed during upload; non-realistic or minor edits don't need it.
- AI-generated music must be disclosed, and so must AI music that's the main focus of a video. It can be fully or partly made with AI.
- Disclosing AI on its own won't limit a video's audience or its eligibility to earn money, according to YouTube.
- Not disclosing can lead to YouTube adding the label itself, removing content or suspending you from the YouTube Partner Program if you keep skipping it.

AI disclosure: Labelling encouraged for completely generated or significantly AI-edited content.
- Label content that's completely generated or significantly edited by AI.
