Can I sell images made with FLUX [dev]?
Depends
The images can be used commercially under the FLUX [dev] licence v2.0, but only if you filter content or review outputs for unlawful or infringing material, and add AI disclosure where the law requires it. The weights themselves are non-commercial, and the licence says revenue-generating use isn't a non-commercial purpose, so running [dev] yourself for paid work or a business needs a licence from Black Forest Labs. FLUX.1 [schnell] and FLUX.2 [klein] 4B are Apache 2.0 with no such limit.

| Plan | Can sell | Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Self-hosted [dev] family (FLUX [dev] Non-Commercial License v2.0) | Depends | Covers FLUX.1 [dev] and its Fill / Depth / Canny / Redux variants, FLUX.1 Kontext [dev], FLUX.1 Krea [dev], FLUX.2 [dev] and FLUX.2 [klein] 9B. Outputs may be used commercially, but only if you filter content or review outputs for unlawful or infringing material, and add AI disclosure where the law requires it. The model itself is licensed only for non-commercial purposes, and the licence says use for revenue-generating activity isn't one, so running [dev] yourself to make paid work is a grey area: a BFL licence or the API avoids it.. AI disclosure on outputs where the law requires it; attribution notice when distributing the model |
| Self-hosted FLUX.1 [schnell] / FLUX.2 [klein] 4B (Apache 2.0) | Yes | Apache 2.0 allows commercial use of the model and its outputs.. none. Apache 2.0 notice when distributing the model, not outputs |
| Self-hosted FLUX 3 Image Klein (FLUX Kommunity License v.1.0) | Depends | Outputs can be used commercially only by Qualifying Users, and only with content filtering or a review of outputs before you share them. Fine-tuning or distributing the model for commercial use is not covered. Above the revenue cap you need a BFL self-hosted licence or the BFL API.. Under US$5M gross annualised revenue, counting you and your affiliates. AI disclosure on outputs where the law requires it; attribution notice when distributing the model |
