Does the model matter on Higgsfield, Freepik and other AI studios?

Depends

It can. Studios like Higgsfield, Magnific (formerly Freepik), Krea and Artlist run models made by Google, ByteDance, Kuaishou, OpenAI and others. The studio's own terms decide who owns what you make, but some also pull in the model makers' rules: Higgsfield adds their use policies, and Magnific adds their terms and licence agreements. API hubs like OpenRouter send you straight to each model's terms.

Quick answers

Can I sell what I make with any model on Higgsfield?

Higgsfield's terms say it doesn't restrict your commercial use of outputs, and they don't carve out any model. But when a model comes from another company, you also agree to that company's acceptable-use or prohibited-use policy, and the stricter rule wins. Higgsfield also says you must clear any third-party rights yourself before you publish.

Do Kling's or Google's own plan rules apply when I use them on a studio?

Our model pages mostly cover each maker's own app or API, which is a separate contract from the one you have with the studio. What carries over depends on the studio's terms. On Higgsfield it's the makers' use policies. On Magnific it's their terms and licence agreements, which are wider. Krea's terms don't mention model makers at all.

What about Freepik (now Magnific)?

We mark paid plans as depends. Paid subscribers get Magnific's rights in the output, and free accounts are limited to personal, non-commercial use. But its AI terms also bring in the third-party providers' terms and licence agreements without naming which ones, and let Magnific limit how outputs from certain tools are used. Music from its ElevenLabs tool can't go on streaming platforms.

Which studio is clearest about third-party models?

Adobe Firefly. Its generative AI terms treat partner-model output as your content, the same as Firefly's own models, and our Firefly page shows which partner models Adobe's indemnity covers.

What about OpenRouter, fal and KIE?

OpenRouter says your rights in outputs are set by each model's own terms. fal says hosted models may carry their own terms and doesn't promise outputs come with any rights. KIE's terms don't cover outputs at all. With all three, the model you pick decides.

Tool by tool

  • Higgsfield

AI creative suite for images, video and voice from prompts or references.

Higgsfield does not claim ownership of your outputs and does not restrict commercial use, whichever model you pick. Many of its models come from other companies, and their use policies also apply. It may embed invisible watermarks / C2PA provenance.

  • Freepik / Magnific

AI image, video and audio tools plus a stock library (formerly Freepik).

On a free account, Magnific's AI outputs are personal, non-commercial use only. Paid plans (Premium, Premium+, Pro) get Magnific's rights in the output, but its AI terms also bring in the model makers' own terms and licence agreements without naming them, and AI music can't go on streaming platforms. So on paid plans, it depends on the model and the output.

  • Krea

Creative AI suite for images, video and 3D, with many models and upscaling.

Krea allows personal or professional use, but commercial rights to generated content depend on your plan and Krea's other conditions.

  • Artlist

AI image, video, voice and music tools plus a licensed stock catalog for video makers.

On a paid Artlist plan, Artlist assigns you its rights in your AI output and doesn't restrict commercial use. Stock assets from its catalog are licensed, not owned: you can only use them inside your own projects, and the Social plan covers only your own channels.

  • Adobe Firefly

Adobe's AI app for images, video, audio and vectors, with Adobe and partner models.

    • Individual plans (Free / Standard / Pro) Yes
    • Creative Cloud for teams / enterprise on an Eligible Plan Yes

Adobe treats Firefly output as your content, but you must not strip watermarks or Content Credentials. Adobe's IP indemnity covers only Creative Cloud for teams/enterprise customers on specific plans, and is capped at US$10,000 per output or claim.

  • Canva AI (Magic Media)

AI image tools inside Canva, including the Magic Media text-to-image generator.

    • Free / Pro Yes

You own Canva AI output and may use it for any lawful purpose, except output that edits or includes Canva library content, which stays under Canva's content licence.

  • OpenRouter (model API hub)

One API to reach AI models from many providers.

OpenRouter's terms don't decide who owns your outputs. They point to each model's own terms, so the model you pick decides what you can sell.

  • fal.ai (model API hub)

Developer platform to call 1,000+ image, video and audio models through one API.

fal's terms say you own your inputs but don't say who owns outputs, and fal doesn't promise outputs come with any rights. Each hosted model's own terms can also apply.

  • KIE.ai (model API hub)

Pay-as-you-go API for many video, image, music and chat models.

KIE's terms of use only cover content you upload. They say nothing about generated outputs, commercial use or the hosted models' own terms, so each model's licence is all you have to go on.
