Does Payhip allow AI-generated products?

Payhip's Terms of Use and its list of banned products don't mention AI at all. They ban copyright infringement and make you promise your files don't infringe anyone's rights. Payhip staff have said AI-generated products are allowed as long as they don't copy, reuse or infringe someone else's work.

Payhip lets you sell ebooks, music, art, templates, courses and memberships from your own store.

Do you have to disclose AI?

Not required in anything we found. Payhip's terms, its banned-products list and the staff replies we found don't mention disclosing AI.

The rules

  1. Payhip's Terms of Use (last updated 19 February 2018) and its banned-products help article (updated 26 July 2026) say nothing about AI-generated content.
  2. Content that infringes copyright isn't allowed, and you promise Payhip that your files don't infringe anyone's intellectual property.
  3. Payhip can remove a file it thinks infringes, or is likely to infringe, without notice. Selling banned content risks permanent deletion of your account.
  4. In replies on Payhip's blog (May 2024 to April 2026), Payhip staff said AI-generated products are allowed as long as they don't copy, reuse or infringe someone else's work. That's a staff reply, not a clause in the terms.
  5. By default, buyers get Payhip's end-user licence, which limits them to personal, non-commercial use.

Quick answers

Do you have to disclose AI on Payhip?

Nothing we found requires it. Payhip's terms, its banned-products list and its staff replies don't mention disclosing AI. Etsy and Amazon KDP do require disclosure if you also sell there.

Can you sell AI ebooks, music, art or templates on Payhip?

Payhip's terms don't treat AI-made files differently from any other digital download. What usually decides it is your AI tool's plan: it has to allow commercial use, and the file can't copy or infringe anyone else's work.

Payhip, Etsy or Amazon KDP: which has stricter AI rules?

Etsy requires you to disclose AI in the listing description and bans selling AI prompt bundles. KDP requires you to disclose AI-generated text, images and translations when you publish. Payhip's terms have no AI rule, so the tool's terms and copyright law are what count.

What does Payhip cost?

When we checked on 19 October 2026: the Free Forever plan is $0 a month plus a 5% transaction fee, Plus is $29 a month plus 2%, and Pro is $99 a month with no transaction fee. PayPal and Stripe still charge their standard fees on every plan.
