Does Amazon allow AI-generated books?
Yes
Yes, but you must tell Amazon. KDP requires you to disclose AI-generated text, images or translations when you publish or republish, even if you edited them heavily. AI-assisted work, where you wrote it and AI helped edit or brainstorm, doesn't need disclosing.

Quick answers
What counts as AI-generated on KDP?
Anything an AI tool created, whether text, images or a translation, even if you edited it substantially afterwards. If you created it and used AI to edit, refine or brainstorm, KDP calls it AI-assisted.
Can you publish a book written with ChatGPT?
Yes. OpenAI's terms say you own the output, and KDP accepts it with an AI disclosure.
Which AI writing tools can't be used for books you sell?
Of the writing tools we track, Perplexity's consumer terms (Free, Pro and Max) don't allow commercial use. ChatGPT, Claude, Sudowrite and Jasper do.
Do other book platforms accept AI books?
IngramSpark rejects works created solely with generative AI but accepts AI work with significant human editing and proper attribution. Draft2Digital accepts AI-assisted books, but not ones generated entirely by AI without extensive human editing.
