Model APIs
AI models you call through an API, either from the model's maker or through a hub that offers many models with one key. On a hub, two sets of terms apply: the hub's own, and the licence of the model you call. Where they differ, the stricter one wins.

-
fal.ai (model API hub)
- API (pay as you go) Depends
fal's terms say you own your inputs but don't say who owns outputs, and fal doesn't promise outputs come with any rights. Each hosted model's own terms can also apply.
-
KIE.ai (model API hub)
- API (pay as you go) Depends
KIE's terms of use only cover content you upload. They say nothing about generated outputs, commercial use or the hosted models' own terms, so each model's licence is all you have to go on.
-
MiniMax API (H3 video, Speech, Music)
- API (pay as you go) Yes
Through MiniMax's own API, you keep ownership of what you generate and the terms set no non-commercial limit. The open H3 and Music 3 weights have their own licences with extra rules, and H3's excludes the EU, UK, South Korea and US.
-
OpenAI API (GPT Image, text to speech)
- API (pay as you go, business terms) Yes
Through the API, you own what OpenAI's models make and OpenAI assigns you its rights. There's no non-commercial limit. AI speech needs a disclosure, and OpenAI's copyright cover has exceptions.
-
OpenRouter (model API hub)
- API (pay as you go) Depends
OpenRouter's terms don't decide who owns your outputs. They point to each model's own terms, so the model you pick decides what you can sell.
